Trying a New Blogging Tool

OK, so my resolve is a little weak. My plan was to post something--anything--at least three times a week. Result: Not Even Close. So I've done a (very) little research looking for a tool that might make pecking out a post a little more accessible or convenient with the hope that I'll pick up the pace a little. I've installed a Windows 7 desktop gadget that looks promising if I can figure out how to check spelling. For this post I'm using MS Word 2010, though it feels a bit like overkill.

In any event, I suppose it's a good thing that no one knows of this collection of virtual scratchings, and better still no one is eagerly awaiting perpetually tardy posts.

And now, as the warm blanket that is pharmaceutical narcotics softly wraps itself around my… zzzzzz…

Trying to get my bearings...

I'm not really sure what I want this to be, or the direction I intend to take this yet. I'm still fiddling with the format, and finding my way around the Dashboard. My indecision should be apparent from my title--Wee Mad Arthur is a character from the Discworld series of books by Sir Terry Pratchett, and The Take is the name of the band I was in during most of the 1980's. Both of these refer to obsessions that have become or have been defining forces in my life and to my character. And like most obsessions, both have been difficult to control.

So in short, I don't expect any real sense of coherence with my postings for the first while. Hopefully, I'll find the time to make posting here a habit. Maybe, with time, my postings won't be as "Brief" as I predict. And while I don't expect to become a professional-level writer, I can't imagine my writing won't improve with each posting.

Should anyone actually stumble across my ramblings, please leave me a comment. I welcome any constructive criticism, and would love to hear from fellow Pratchett fans.

First Entry...

Well, not really. I'm at work and will get my ass kicked if I get caught blogging, but I had a few minutes while Windows Update runs. I'll continue this tonight.
